Aamir Khan as villain in Dhoom 3, it's a great franchise for being a part! Posted: 04 Feb 2011 05:33 AM PST Aamir Khan as villain in Dhoom 3, it's a great franchise for being a part!: Aamir Khan is excited to play villain in "Dhoom 3″. The superstar Wednesday said "Dhoom" was a great franchise to work in even though he initially didn't think he would fit in."I have recently signed 'Dhoom 3′. I liked the script very much. When I had watched 'Dhoom', I liked it a lot. I enjoyed the music and the whole attitude. It's a very fun film. I really liked it. I never thought I would fit in this kind of film," Aamir told reporters at a press meet here. Victor Acharya, who wrote "Dhoom" and "Dhoom 2″ is the writer-director of "Dhoom 3″. The earlier installments were directed by Sanjay Gadhvi and starred Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. "When I heard the story from Victor, I really enjoyed it. Very well-written script, very enjoyable. It's a great franchise and I am happy to be part of it. I am also looking forward to work with Abhishek and Uday," Aamir said. "It's true that for the first time I'm doing a negative role, an anti-hero in the mainstream film. I liked my role and all the characters are very well-written. Actually, in between I did another negative role in an offbeat film '1947 Earth'," said Aamir. This is the second time Aamir is working with Yash Raj Films after "Fanaa" in 2006. "I have worked with Yash Raj and I have a very comfortable relation with them," he said. The actor said Victor and producer Aditya Chopra are yet to decide the actress opposite him. While "Dhoom" starred John Abraham as villain, "Dhoom 2″ saw Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai sizzle too. Victor Acharya's debut "Tashan" (2008) fared badly at the box office but that didn't deter Aamir from signing his film. "I think he is a very talented director. One shouldn't decide a director's capacity with the fate of any one of his films. I have full faith in him," Aamir said. |
Movie Review - Yeh Saali Zindagi Posted: 04 Feb 2011 05:24 AM PST Movie Review - Yeh Saali Zindagi: Getting your head around the maze of director Sudhir Mishra's Yeh Saali Zindagi could be quite an ask and task. Taking a plot bursting at its seams, Sudhir Mishra plonks in it so many characters, with many a voice-over and flashbacks, that keeping the count after a while becomes an exercise in maths. But, given the reputation of the director, you are willing to sit back, play along, and let the movie grow on you. And it does. Simply put, Yeh Saali Zindagi is a romantic thriller with too many sub-plots unspooling at a breathless pace. Arun (Irrfan Khan) is in love with the singer Priti (Chitrangada Singh) but she loves Shyam (Vipul Gupta) who is set to marry the daughter of a politician. On the other hand Kuldeep (Arunoday Singh) is a criminal on his last assignment. Thanks to his feisty wife (Aditya Rao Hydari) who disapproves of his shady, deadly profession, he's set to reform and start life afresh. But his last assignment embroils Shyam, Priti and Arun in a deadlock where each character's love is tested against the grime and crime of Delhi's underbelly. A whole lot of oddballs are entangled in the ruck. There are gun-toting hardy criminals, corrupt cops and opportunistic politicians. At first the characters remain mostly isolated, like an assorted bunch in a puzzle that begins to make sense as each piece falls into its place. Yet, the overwrought and complex structure of the plot does challenge your grey cells. The story-screen writing (Mishra and Manu Rishi) is one of the strengths of YSZ. The dialogues, liberally sprinkled with expletives of choicest variety, are witty gems that keep you amused throughout the frenetic pace of the story. Another strength is the cast ensemble. Irrfan Khan comes up with the most winsome performance as the man who goes out of his way to help the woman he loves without his feelings being reciprocated. Chitrangada Singh is naturally glamorous and pitches in a fine performance. Arunoday Singh shines as the rowdy criminal trying to mend his ways for the sake of his wife and kid. His torrid, almost violent love story with Aditi Rao does prove a mild distraction in the plot but is quite finely etched. From the sidelines, Sushant Singh and Saurabh Shukla leave an impression. More than anything, YSZ is a testimony of Mishra's craftsmanship as a writer and director. With its many unpredictable twists and twirls and a climax that some might take with a pinch of salt, YSZ is a delightfully different film that attempts to break all set formulas and leave you with a smile on the face in the end. |
Sonakshi Sinha to lose more weight to look slimmer and sexier Posted: 04 Feb 2011 02:41 AM PST Sonakshi Sinha to lose more weight to look slimmer and sexier: Sonakshi Sinha's next film Race 2 will see her shedding the 'gaon ki gori' image completely. Once a plump girl, Sonakshi had to shed a lot of weight for her debut film Dabangg. But now she's set to lose more weight to look slimmer and sexier in Race 2. "First, I had to lose weight for my debut in Dabangg. Now I've to get into even better shape for 'Joker' and 'Race 2'. For the last two years that's all I seem to be doing. Losing weight. But I am fine with that. Because it's important for me to look good," Sonakshi is quoted as saying by a news agency. The 23-year-old beauty, however, regrets not being able to show her dancing skills in Farah Khan and Shirish Kunder's film Joker in which she is paired with Akshay Kumar. "I requested Farah to please, please make me dance in her husband's film. But my character doesn't have any dance-able opportunities. Sad. We'll have to wait for another occasion," Sonakshi said. |
Secret Tattoo of Kangna Ranaut in 'Tanu Weds Manu' Posted: 04 Feb 2011 02:31 AM PST Secret Tattoo of Kangna Ranaut in 'Tanu Weds Manu': Kangana Ranaut shows off a secret tattoo that is inked on her chest in her next film Tanu Weds Manu. The actress plays a carefree, bindaas girl in the film who is dead against an arranged marriage but her parents choose a NRI doctor for her, played by Madhavan. So Kangana gets a tattoo on her chest which goes with her bold gal nature. The tattoo says 'Awasthi', her boyfriend's name in the film, and in one scene she lowers her kurta to flaunt the tattoo on her chest to shock the boy who has come to marry her. It's learnt that Kangana was not quite sure of the scene, but as she is a thorough professional, she gave it a try and got a temporary henna tattoo on the upper part of her breast especially for the scene. In fact, she used to get the tattoo daily for continuous three days till the scene was finally canned. That's the secret of tattoo! |
Deepika Padukone to agree with Rajinikanth next film! Posted: 04 Feb 2011 02:27 AM PST Deepika Padukone to agree with Rajinikanth next film!: Deepika Padukone has ended her dilemma. Last week, the buzz had it that Deepika was approached for a film opposite Rajinikanth, but the actress was in two minds due to unavailability of dates. Guess what she opted for? She decided to step out from the Housefull sequel opposite Akshay Kumar. Deeps thinks the bargain is worth it, but now gossip mills are busy churning out the rumour that Akki is not happy with Deeps. However, the producer of Housefull, Sajid Nadiadwala apparently has no problem with her. As per sources, he understands Deepika's professional decision. Coming to the Rajnikant film, it's titled Rana and will see the superstar in a triple role. It will be produced by Rajini's daughter Saundarya Rajinikanth. Deepika has heard the script and liked it. So, things are going well for the film, unlike Robot (Endhiran), which was turned down by many actresses before Aishwarya Rai signed the film for a whopping amount. After the stupendous success of Robot, who will say no to Rajinikanth! |
Katrina Kaif's No for Dibakar Banerjee’s next project! Posted: 04 Feb 2011 02:23 AM PST Katrina Kaif's No for Dibakar Banerjee's next project!: She just lost a great chance! It could have been the role of a life time for Katrina Kaif. She was the one whom the talented director Dibakar Banerjee wanted to cast in his next film Shanghai. Though the actress was keen on doing the project which has got Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol in the lead, par yeh ho na saka! For Dibakar, she was the right choice; the role requires a girl who looks half Indian and half Caucasian. Obviously, he had Kat in mind, but as this pretty lass is busy in a Yash Raj rom com she can't squeeze out time for Dibakar. "Katrina was ideal. But she had other career plans," Dibakar is quoted as saying by a daily. Now the makers are searching frantically for the new Shanghai face. Casting agencies in Europe and North America are given the task to find the right girl as shooting starts in three months. Can Kat suggest someone to the director? Any near or dear one who looks like her and can act! |

Now actress Minissha Lamba's name is involved in a multi-crore property scam. While talking to a tabloid, Minissha clearly states that her name is used to cheat people. The names of Minissha and Hollywood actress Tara Reid were part of the promotion campaign for the housing project by Santorini Development in Dubai. It even claimed that Minissha has bought the house in the project. "I have no clue how something like this has happened. Forget about buying property in Dubai, I have not even entertained the notion yet," Minissha is quoted as saying by the tabloid. She feels sorry for the people who have been tricked to invest their hard-earned money in this fake housing project. The four who are accused in this Rs 11.5 crore scam are locked behind bars for three years. |
