Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s next film shoot angers locals! Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:31 AM PST Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor's next film shoot angers locals!: The shoot of Salman Khan's upcoming film Bodyguard at the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden has angered the locals. The reason for the anger is that the thousands of locals in the area who visit the park on daily basis were not allowed an entry for three days because the garden was booked for the film shoot starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor. Angry over the film shoot in the garden, the Assosiation of Friends of Japan (AFJ) now intends to take up the matter with Pune Municipal Corporation, which gave the permission for the shoot. According to the members of AFJ, the shoot not just damaged the facilities in the park, but the crew left a litter of garbage after the shoot. It's a first ever film shoot in the Pune Okayama Friendship Garden. Bodyguard is produced by Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri. It's a remake of a hit Malayalam film. Kareena plays the daughter of a don and Salman plays her bodyguard. |
Dirty Picture first look: Vidya Balan romance with Naseeruddin Shah Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:15 AM PST Dirty Picture first look: Vidya Balan romance with Naseeruddin Shah: Vidya Balan is getting bolder by the day. After recently posing topless for a popular calendar, the actress is now set to get cosy with actor Naseeruddin Shah. Ekta Kapoor's production Dirty Picture might turn out to be a watershed moment in Vidya's filmography. She plays the popular south sex bomb Silk Smitha in the film. Not only will Vidya will exude dollops of oomph in the film, she will also get intimate with actor Naseeruddin Shah. We hear that Naseer plays a film producer who gets into a steamy and sexual relationship with Silk Smitha. This would be Vidya and Naseer's second outing together after Ishqiya that had the latter playing a clunky old criminal who has a crush on Vidya. Dirty Picture is directed by Milan Luthria. |
Deepika Padukone getting late for a Shooting! Posted: 02 Feb 2011 03:21 AM PST Deepika Padukone getting late for a Shooting!: A senior and maverick director like Prakash Jha wants to see some discipline from his cast. Shooting for Aarakshan in Bhopal, he apparently asked the movie's lead actress Deepika Padukone to report on the sets on time. This is the first time Deepika is working with Jha, and naturally the actress is new to his way of working. Jha is very punctual and likes to finish his shoot in time. But Deepika usually arrives late on the sets, so Jha had to ask her to sleep early in order to come early. In fact, as per reports, her co-star Saif Ali Khan, who plays a professor in the film, is also rarely on time. "Deepika and Saif are invariably late for the shooting despite there not being many options for partying in Bhopal," a source is quoted telling a daily. Deepika has understood what is expected from her, now the crew hopes for a smoother schedule. Perhaps, they should take a cue from their co-star Amitabh Bachchan, who even after spending decades in the industry continues to be a well-disciplined actor. Big B, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is always on time. |
Verve Magazine: Aamir Khan to kiss her wife Kiran Rao on the cover Posted: 02 Feb 2011 03:09 AM PST Verve Magazine: Aamir Khan to kiss her wife Kiran Rao on the cover: They don't have to walk hand-in-hand at every filmy do or party to show their affection. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are truly, madly, and deeply in love with each other. Verve is celebrating the season of love February by bringing these two strong minded individuals together for the first time for a (very) cute cover. The couple who is married for six years shares many things in common, but they have their share of differences too. Yet they have no time for ego clashes; if Kiran believes Aamir understands her in and out, Aamir loves her for what she is. Not to forget, Kiran has introduced him to a wider range of cinema. Yes, this Bollywood couple is driven by the passion for cinema. What makes the Verve cover look so lovely? Aamir's playfulness, his innocence, and Kiran's poise and simplicity. |
Rani Mukerjee, Preity Zinta spotted in a new dress up and Attitude! Posted: 02 Feb 2011 03:03 AM PST Rani Mukherjee, Preity Zinta spotted in a new dress up and Attitude!: Bollywood actresses Rani Mukherjee and Preity Zinta seem to be in the mood of some change in their lives! During the recently held Filmfare Awards, Rani was spotted in a purple western dress and Preity Zinta was spotted in a typical Indian sari designed by Manish Malhotra. This goes totally against the usual image of the two actresses. We have always seen Rani preferring sari for various award functions whereas Preity was fond of her gowns and other western attires. However, the duo seems to have exchanged their dressing style. It was not the only thing that duo exchanged as they were also seen exchanging their attitudes! Rani, who was earlier known for her privacy and less media friendly attitude, has become a bubbly girl spreading her charm all over. But, Preity's dimpled smile was missing somewhere and was maintaining a low profile. Speaking about her expertise with sari, Preity said that it took her only five minutes to put on it. It seems that the absence from big screen and the IPL saga has taken a toll on Preity. On the other hand, Rani has found a new hope with the success of her latest release No One Killed Jessica. The 32-year old actress impressed everyone with her newfound charming personality beating the entrepreneur Preity Zinta. |

'Dabangg's Music Director Sajid-Wajid gives award credit to Salman Khan Posted: 01 Feb 2011 01:08 PM PST 'Dabangg's Music Director Sajid-Wajid gives award credit to Salman Khan: The composer duo Sajid-Wajid are on cloud nine after winning a series of awards for their music in last year's blockbuster " Dabangg" and the two give credit to Salman Khan for their success. They bagged best music director awards at Star Screen Awards, Apsara Awards, Zee Cine Awards and Filmfare Awards for the funny cop drama in which Salman Khan played the lead role. "I am on cloud nine and it's really fun. If we have worked hard, god has acknowledged it. Out of 101 percent, I would give 100 percent credit to Salman bhai and keep the rest with me for the success. Salman is like a godfather to us. When no one gave us a chance, he believed in us," Sajid told us in an interview. Wajid said: "I give 100 percent credits to Salman Khan. He stood by us when nobody believed in us, he believed in our music, so certainly whatever we are today, a major part of the credit goes to him. If he had not been with us, our journey would have been more difficult." The duo was introduced to Bollywood by actor-director-producer Sohail Khan with "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya" in 1998 and since then they have given music for almost all Salman films and with "Dabangg" they have struck gold. This film fetched Salman too his first award in the best actor category. "No one can underrate Salman Khan. One's ability can't be measured by whether he is awarded or not. People make their position with their work; awards are just an extension of it. As a human being, Salman has garnered so many awards from normal people. As a human being he is far ahead," said Wajid. As of now they are not associated with any Salman film, but they are sure to remain loyal to him. "Certainly! We always look up to him. We are his loyalists and would always want to work with him," said Wajid. |
Indo-Latin America: Bollywood takes to New High Posted: 01 Feb 2011 01:00 PM PST Indo-Latin America: Bollywood takes to New High: When Latin American girls start wearing bindis, enquire about Indian superstars and Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan shoots a whole TV series in splendid Argentine locales, there is little doubt that entertainment ties between the two regions are flourishing. Shah Rukh's TV game show "Zor Ka Jhakta", which goes on air Tuesday, is the latest to reaffirm these growing bonds. A team of 28 Indian TV and film celebrities and a supporting crew of 20 spent 40 days in Buenos Aires between December-January to shoot the show. "Images of Argentina will appear when Shah Rukh Khan hosts 'Wipe Out' ('Zor Ka Jhakta') show from Feb 1 to 16 at 9 p.m. on the Indian TV Channel Imagine. Before each episode, there will be videos of Argentina," R. Viswanathan, Indian ambassador to Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, wrote on his blog. "The Indian cameramen were fascinated with the fantastic sceneries of the El Calafate Glacier and the Iguazu Waterfalls and could not stop shooting.... "Another surprising Argentine connection...It is not only the images of Argentina which will be seen in India these days. The Indians have also started listening to the music composed by an Argentine in the Aamir Khan film 'Dhobi Ghat' released on 21 January 2011. Yes...Gustavo Santaolalla, the music director of the film, is an Argentine. "Gustavo is a pioneer in the rock music scene of Argentina in the late sixties and seventies. He later moved to Los Angeles and started working with Hollywood. He won two Oscar awards for his music in the films 'Brokeback Mountain' and 'Babel'," wrote Viswanathan. " Dhobi Ghat" director Kiran Rao will visit Argentina next month for the screening of her film at the Pinamar film festival. These are the latest examples of the exploration of Latin America by the Indian entertainment industry. The region has exotic and attractive locations for film shootings and Indian filmmakers had explored it earlier also. "'Dhoom II' was shot in Rio and a scene for 'Robot' was shot in Machu Pichu in which Rajnikanth danced with Aishwarya Rai. In August 2010, Priyanka Chopra was in Rio for shooting the show, 'Fear Factor'," he wrote. Not only this, after Barbara Mori and Giselle Monteiro's popularity post "Kites" and "Love Aaj Kal" respectively, there are many youngsters from Latin America who are keen to try their luck in Bollywood. "The success of these two have given rise to a new category of Latin American visa applicants at the Indian embassies. Young boys and girls want to go to Bollywood and also for modelling in India," wrote Viswanathan. Technopark based animation major Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd and Buenos Aires Illusion Studios collaborated to produce 3D cartoon film "Gaturro". Based on comic character created by the famous Argentine cartoonist Christian Dzwonik (Nik), the film was a hit in Argentina last year. "The Embassy of India organised a Children´s Festival with this film during the Festival of India in November 2010." Director Pablo Cesar is working on a co-production "Thinking of Him", based on a romantic story of Tagore´s encounter with Victoria O´Campo in Buenos Aires. "He is looking for an Indian co-producer. This film would be one of the highlights of the 150th birth anniversary of (Rabindranath) Tagore being celebrated this year." From bindis to Ganesh idols, the Indian flavour is becoming popular among the locals, thanks to the Brazilian soap opera "Camino das Indias" that ran for eight months in 2009 on Brazilian Globo. "It was a story about India with Brazilian actors. It had a profound impact. The Brazilians have started greeting Indians with 'namaste' and taking them by surprise by asking if they are Brahmins or Dalits. "The girls from Ipanema are now putting bindis matching with their bikinis. Exports of Indian ethnic dress, decoration items and Ganesh idols have skyrocketed. The soap opera has been dubbed in Spanish and is being shown in the rest of Latin America." Another craze in Latin America is Bollywood dancing, which was a hit during the festivals of India in 2009 and 2010 in Buenos Aires. And people have also started taking Indian films seriously. "The video rental stores in Buenos Aires have a number of Bollywood films. The Indian film shows during the last three Festivals of India attracted long queues of Argentines and the Embassy had to extend the film festivals for about a month. "The facebook of the embassy has messages from Argentine girls asking about Shah Rukh and Salman Khan. While in India, "Samba and salsa, tango and carnival and the Latino way of having fun and fiestas have already caught the imagination of Indians and especially the globalising IT generation," wrote Viswanathan. |
