Box Office Report: 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' up after down start

Box Office Report: 'Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji' up after down start: Madhur Bhandarkar's foray into a different stream has been met with mixed response from the critics and viewers alike. Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji took a dull start at box office on Friday but picked up slightly in the evening.

The movie, starring a host of actors including Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shazahn Padamsee, Shruti Haasan and Shraddha Das, saw a 40 percent response at most urban centres on Friday morning. The collections went up slightly in the evening and are expected to rise, or at least remain steady, throughout the weekend.

The fact that Ajay Devgan's films have been doing well lately might give heart to the producers and distributors who are hopeful that the collections will rise considerably in the coming days.

On the other hand, Aamir Khan's Dhobi Ghat rounded off its first week with a collection of Rs. 13 crore net. The film is more of an arthouse cinema and perhaps that's why it fared shockingly low at box office compared with Aamir's previous blockbusters.

Meanwhile, the Deol storm is continuing unabated through North India as their film Yamla Pagla Deewana is on the cusp of touching the Rs. 50 crore mark after its two weeks at theatres.

Saif and Kareena shouldn't get married: Ajay Devgan at Koffee With Karan

Posted: 29 Jan 2011 02:37 AM PST

Saif and Kareena shouldn't get married: Ajay Devgan at Koffee With Karan: Ajay Devgan is a happily married man but when he was asked to give some marital advice to Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, the actor said the couple shouldn't get married. The incident happened at the 'Koffee with Karan' show where the host of show Karan asked the question during his famous 'Rapid Fire round'.

Karan has been trying to get Ajay on his couch for the last two seasons and succeeded only this time around and the Golmaal actor has been nothing less than a riot and a shocker at the talk show. He has gone on to give some amazing answers at the show and without an iota of shyness Ajay gave the advice of Saifeena not to marry.

Well the media houses and the tabloids have started speculating the reasons on why Devgan decided to impart that kind of advice when he is married to Kajol for over a decade now. A source says that there is not much to read in what Ajay said as it was just part of fun and nothing serious into it.

But knowing Karan Johar, will he let such a remark pass-by just like that without prying into getting some more details about it, only the show can divulge more, since none of the
celebrities associated with the comment responded when asked. Even SOL's managing director Fazila Allana, the show's producer declined to comment on Ajay's advice to Saifeena.

One thing that everyone says that Ajay was a blast at the talk show and in spite of being the sole guest, the episode is going to be an amazing one.

To add to this, an overjoyed Remo told Daya that C.I.D. and Sony should consider introducing a Robot Cop and Daya should play that role in the show.

So far Anushka Manchanda, Renuka Shahane, Akhil Kumar and Krushna Abhishek have been eliminated, while Yana Gupta and Ankita Lokhande are back in the show as wild card entries.

The episode featuring Daya's elimination will be aired Monday on Sony.

Gulzar, 74, who has written innumerable songs for Hindi films and has many poetry books to his credit, was present at the event and said: "Inshallah, I would write a poem for Katrina for sure."

The event was about love poems and it was but natural to know Katrina's views on romance and the actress happily obliged everyone by sharing her opinion.

"Even though love is known to entail pain, disappointment, disillusionment, still I don't want to be pessimistic about love. I would rather want to have a positive approach to love. I believe that there can be a happy ending, because love is the most beautiful thing in the world," she said.

When asked about Valentine's Day plans, she said: "I have no plans. I will be working on the day."

Ranbir Kapoor's world tour postponed

Posted: 28 Jan 2011 12:46 PM PST

Ranbir Kapoor's world tour postponed: All the hullaballoo about Ranbir Kapoor setting off on a grand musical world tour with a bevy of Bollywood beauties, including Katrina Kaif, has come to a naught.

For the Kapoor laddie, slated to trot the globe in summer this year, has now postponed the tour to 2012 despite several marquee names like Katrina, Bipasha Basu and Malaika Arora in the troupe.

The reason for the postponement of the tour, we hear, is that Ranbir feels he still doesn't have enough ammo in his repertory of songs.

What he wants is to include the songs of his upcoming film Rockstar, by Imtiaz Ali, in the concerts. But that can't be possible before the film's release.

Remember the electrifying on-stage performances Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal gave after the success of Rock On!? Ranbir, who plays a rockstar in Ali's film, apparently wants to replicate the same magic, but for that he would have to wait until Rockstar hits the theatres later this year.

So, as things stand now, the much touted world tour of Ranbir has been postponed. It will happen in 2012.
