Salman Khan to abstain from alcohol! Posted: 17 Jan 2011 06:01 AM PST Salman Khan to abstain from alcohol!: Salman Khan is keeping off his favourite tipple nowadays. The Bacchus bhakt is turning teetotaller. Known to always enjoy his drink, Salman is going to abstain from alcohol because he's all set to develop six pack abs for his role in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's film My Love Story. We hear that Salman's clean days began since his birthday on December 27. Now, he's hitting the gym with vengeance to get rid of all the flab he accumulated since Dabangg. The carefree lifestyle of alcoholic indulgence has taken its toll on the 45-year-old actor and now's the time to undo the damage. Just like Aamir Khan took almost a year to become the sinewy beefcake for Ghajini, Salman will pump the iron for his role in My Love Story, a Hindi remake of the hit Malayalam film Bodyguard. Since the making of My Love Story is going to take a good part of 2011, it would well be a clean year for Salman. Will he take to the bottle after that? We hope not! |
Oscar winner A R Rahman lose Golden Globe Award! Posted: 17 Jan 2011 05:45 AM PST Oscar winner A R Rahman lose Golden Globe Award!: Indian music composer and twin Oscar winner A R Rahman could not win the coveted globe at the 68th annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday night. Rahman was nominated in the Original Score category for his music in director Danny Boyle's 127 Hours but lost to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, composers of the music in blockbuster The Social Network. Hopes for Rahman were quite high because just a day earlier he had won the best original song trophy at the 16th Critics' Choice Awards for his number 'If I Rise' from the same film. Rahman had won his first and only Golden Globe award in 2009 for Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire. Later that year, he won two Oscars (Best Original Score and Best Song) for his work in Slumdog. Now, Rahman's hopes are pinned on Oscars which will be held at the end of February. He's nominated for his song 'If I Rise'. |

Mallika Sherawat to perform a raunchy item Posted: 17 Jan 2011 03:27 AM PST Mallika Sherawat to perform a raunchy item: Thanks to 'Munni Badnaam Hui' and 'Sheila Ki Jawani', items songs are again all the rage in B-Town. Hopping on the bandwagon now is the empress of oomph Mallika Sherawat. Yes, Mallika is shaking her booty for a raunchy item song in director Anees Bazmee's next film Thank You. The item song is called 'Razia Gundo Mein Phas Gayi' (Razia stuck with the goons) and has been composed by Pritam. The track reportedly has a desi, folksy flavour to appeal to all. The song will feature Mallika with all the male actors of the film: Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Sunil Shetty. Apparently, Mallika was game for the item when director Bazmee approached her. Not just that, we hear that Mallika is not charging any fee for the item because she shares a good rapport with Bazmee with whom she worked in Welcome. Mallika has given five days to shoot the song. The shoot is going on currently. |
Aamir Khan very excited to do lovemaking scene in 'Dhobi Ghat' Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:39 AM PST Aamir Khan very excited to do lovemaking scene in 'Dhobi Ghat': The actor Aamir Khan was super-excited to shoot a lovemaking scene in wifey's movie Dhobi Ghat, but before the star could realize that he is shooting a steamy scene, the sequence was over. Earlier, Kiran Rao had said that she kept the intimate scene 'tame' and was happy with the result. Alas! It seems her husband wasn't pleased with the direction of the scene. Recently Aamir was quoted as saying, "When I read the script of Dhobi Ghat, I spotted a sequence where I was to do a love making scene. So, I was pretty excited about the same. Finally, when we started filming the said sequence, the lovemaking was over before I could realise it." The movie buffs are eagerly waiting for the film which is releasing on January 21. In the film Aamir plays a painter who develops a liking for the woman whom he has seen in video tapes. |

Bachchan's family boycott IIFA Awards 2011 at Toronto Posted: 16 Jan 2011 11:41 AM PST Bachchan's family boycott IIFA Awards 2011 at Toronto: It's the season of awards in B'town. And amongst all the winning and losing, celebrating and griping - it's absence and not presence that is gripping headlines, more so than whose walking away with the trophies. If tweeting and twittering is to go by then the first family of Bollywood, Bachchan Junior and Senior with family won't be making an appearance at the 2011 International Indian Film Academy Awards a.k.a IIFA Awards to be held in Toronto this year. The head of the B'clan, Amitabh Bachchan posted the following message to his legions of followers on twitter saying, "We are not coming to IIFA. IIFA said our services are not required!" The development does come as a bit of surprise as the Bachchans have had a long association with IIFA and are perceived by many to be Ambassadors of the awards. Surely they'll be sourly missed! |
