Aditi Rao lips lock with Arunoday Singh in Yeh Saali Zindagi: Move over Mallika Sherawat, for Arunoday Singh and Aditi Rao have upped the stakes by kissing 22 times in Sudhir Mishra's upcoming film Yeh Saali Zindagi.

Director Sudhir Mishra believes that a kiss is an aesthetic and natural expression of love. However, he has had to do away with kissing scenes in the past as the actors have been reluctant.

Even though both Rao and Singh were apprehensive of how their families would react, Mishra's directorial experience prevailed and he was able to calm the two.

Arunoday is the grandson of prominent politician Arjun Singh and Aditi Rao Hydari belongs to a princely background. Her grandfather from her mother's side was Raja J Rameshwar Rao and Sir Akbar Hydari was her grandfather from her dad's side.

The beautiful Aditi Rao, was seen in a simple role in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6. Her Tamil movie Sringaram has won a few national awards, and she has also done the Malayalam 'Prajapathi' opposite Mammotty.

In Yeh Saali Zindagi, Aditi Rao is paired opposite Arunoday Singh, and is sharing screen space with Irrfan Khan and Chitrangada Singh.

"Aditi and Arunodoy play a young couple based in Delhi. They kiss every time they quarrel. And they quarrel a lot," says Mishra.

Shweta Tiwari tied the knot with Abhinav Kohli secretly?: Rumour has it that Shweta Tiwari, television artist and winner of Bigg Boss 4, is already married to her boyfriend Abhinav Kohli.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Shweta tied the knot with Abhinav before she entered the Bigg Boss house last year. It was a very private wedding and nobody in the media got the whiff of it.

However, her former husband Raja Chaudhary has reportedly come to know of it and that is why he's been creating quite a ruckus. He's afraid of losing his daughter Palak from his marriage with Shweta.

Shweta and Abhinav were recently assaulted and abused by Raja in Mumbai, following which Shweta lodged a police complaint against her ex hubby. It was another in a series of harassments by Raja.

Party At Night: Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor seen together

Party At Night: Katrina Kaif, Ranbir Kapoor seen together: Just days after they were spotted enjoying a car ride on the streets of Mumbai, Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor have now been seen partying together at night.

Something is definitely brewing between Ranbir and Katrina. For the otherwise extra cautious couple has been letting their guard down lately, as if to let the world know that they are indeed an item.

Earlier last week, Ranbir took Katrina for a ride in his posh Audi R8 on the roads of Juhu and zoomed away when onlookers tried to click them. But on Friday night, the duo was less wary about being seen together.

We hear that Ranbir and Katrina walked in around midnight at a suburban lounge in Juhu. They stayed for a good number of hours and were seen partying together. The duo was clearly having a good time, if the eye-witnesses are to go by.

A friend of Katrina is quoted as saying that she had gone to the lounge with the crew of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Ranbir was there partying with his friends. So they met coincidentally.

Well, if it was a coincidence, it was a pretty romantic one.

No from Filmfare Awards to Hrithik Roshan

No from Filmfare Awards to Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik Roshan and wife Sussanne Roshan were disappointed that the actor's stellar performance in Guzaarish was ignored at the Filmfare Awards on Saturday night in Mumbai.

The duo walked in together hoping to lap up at least one black lady statuette which has been made a little plumper and heavier this year. But they were disappointed by the Filmfare snub.

The Best Actor (Popular Choice) award went to Shahrukh Khan for his role in My Name Is Khan. And the Critics' Choice Best Actor statuette was bagged by Rishi Kapoor for his role in the small-budget film Do Dooni Chaar.

To cap it all, the show's hosts Ranbir Kapoor and enacted a spoof on Guzaarish. Imran dressed up as Hrithik while Ranbir mimicked Imran KhanAishwarya Rai.

Clearly, it wasn't a night to enjoy for Hrithik. He and wife Sussanne left the award function much early.

Sussanne later expressed her disappointment on Twitter: "Just came back from Filmfare. Sometimes in life we get what we don't deserve...makes it difficult to understand what's the logic in all this."

Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan take a look of Hrithik-Aishwarya!: When Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan get together to show their antics, expect a blast.
The duo regaled the audiences at the Filmfare Awards in Mumbai on Saturday night by spoofing a few popular acts of the year, but nothing could beat their parody of Ethan and Sophia, played by Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, from director Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film Guzaarish.

Imran dressed up as the magician Ethan and Ranbir was in drag to play the doe-eyed nurse Sophia. Here's a pic of the duo as Ethan and Sophia. Enjoy!

Indian Traditional Wear dominated Filmfare red carpet

Posted: 30 Jan 2011 02:20 PM PST

Indian Traditional Wear dominated Filmfare red carpet: Myriad colour sarees and multi-layered kurtas dominated the red carpet of the 56th Filmfare Awards Saturday night, when celebrities came to attend the coveted and the oldest film award ceremony of Bollywood at the Yash Raj Film studios.

Going Indian was the trend noticed with most actresses opting for traditional wear. While white was the chosen colour of the day with many actresses going in for it, other shades were not left behind either.

Aishwarya Rai made a pretty picture in a plain off-white saree. Sharing her colour were Isha Koppikhar and Mini Mathur, who were also dressed in white, sporting the Indian garb. On the other hand, Urmila Matondkar looked stunning in an elaborate white net anarkali suit.

Vidya Balan, who has shown her saree fetish on a number of occasions and has been spotted in only this outfit in her every appearance, did not disappoint yet again and walked the red carpet in a black saree with gold work designed by her favourite designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Dia Mirza too sported a black number but it was a concept saree by Gaurav Gupta, which she had coupled with a black net blouse.

Apart from that Shreya Saran, Poonam Dhillon and Aarti Chabbria, flaunted the peacock colours of blue and green, while Priety Zinta wore a reddish maroon net saree with a velvet blouse and Payal Rohatgi stuck to a peach one, coupled with a red bindi.

However, Rekha, like every year, stole the show, dressed in a rich gold saree and a parrot green blouse.

Others, who sported Indian wear were Raveena Tandon in a black and brown anarkali suit, Kajol in fuscia and blue, asymmetrical suit by Manish Malhotra, Kalki Koechlin in a black and beige suit, Madhuri Dixit in a bright red anarkali suit and Katrina Kaif in a beautiful peachish pink lehenga and long net coat with silver work.

Even though traditional wear was in prominence, western wear too made an appearance with few actresses looking stunning in evening gowns of a range of colours.

Genelia D'souza, Neha Dhupia and newcomer Sandeepa Dhar showed their preference for the colour blue and were seen wearing long flowy gowns of different styles and shades at the event.

While Sridevi walked in a deep purple, backless gown, Sameera Reddy posed for the shutterbugs in a beige shimmery number with a touch of emerald green. On the other hand, Sonakshi Sinha opted for a plain green off-sholder gown and Prachi Desai stuck to a peach train dress.

Finally Malaika Arora Khan looked ravishing as always in a white gown with a touch of gold on the shoulder and Mugdha Godse in a rust yellow long dress with copper work.

On the whole, the night did not lose out on the glamour quotient!

Anushka Sharma Interview: I was initially scared to shoot with Rishi Kapoor

Anushka Sharma Interview: I was initially scared to shoot with Rishi Kapoor: Anushka Sharma reveals she was initially scared to shoot with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor with whom she shares the screen in her latest film 'Patiala House'.

'His (Rishi's) demeanor was such that he was very intimidating. But I realised that actually he is a very cool person. He cracks lots of jokes and used to keep pulling my leg all the time,' Anushka told IANS in an interview.

'Later on, the ice was broken, but initially I was very scared because he comes across as a very strict person,' she added.

With three successful films under her belt, Anushka is happy to claim that she is regarded as a bankable actor.

'After 'Band Baaja Baaraat', people are viewing me differently. I have been seen as a bankable actor. So, a lot of good things, a lot of appreciation. I am feeling comfortable in the industry,' she said.

'Band Baaja Baaraat' completes her three-film contract with Yash Raj Films that gave her the first break opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' in 2008 and then her role in 'Badmaash Company'.

For 'Band Baaja Baarat', Anushka shared the best actress trophy at the Apsara Awards 2011 with Vidya Balan, who won it for 'Ishqiya'.

The model-turned actress consciously avoids to be typecast and feels lucky that she got to do distinctly different characters in all the four films, including 'Patiala House', she has done so far.

'Right after my first film, I went and signed 'Badmaash Company', which was right opposite of my debut character,' Anushka said.

'That was exciting because I know my value and I know that I am capable of doing a lot more. So I only choose and work with people who have faith in my capabilities as an actor,' she added.

'I don't want to work with people who would take me in an easy way and cast me in something which I have done before. So far I am lucky that I have worked with people who have given me different kinds of films,' she added.

Asked what exactly she looks at while choosing a film, the actress said: 'When I read a script, the first thing I see is whether I would be watching this film and be entertained.'

'Then I see my role in the film. Is it challenging enough? Is it going to make any difference in my career?' she added.

The 22-year old trusted the same instincts while signing 'Patiala House', where she plays actor Akshay Kumar's muse.

Directed by Nikhil Advani, 'Patiala House' shows how a second-generation Sikh Guttu (Akshay Kumar) and his siblings in London held back their dreams out of love and respect for their authoritarian father (Rishi Kapoor).

But Guttu meets Simran (Anushka) who gives him the strength to stand up once again to fulfil his dream.

This cross-generation drama is about second chances.

Anushka personally never had to bear any such family obligation while either choosing modelling or acting as a profession. But she said she could easily relate to it.

'I wanted to be a model, my parents were okay with that. I wanted to be an actor, my parents were okay with that too. That way, I have been lucky. But I know someone who has (strict parents) so I can empathise and relate to it,' she said.

Working with Akshay was a learning experience for Anushka.

'He is super professional. He does very small, small things, which are subtle and funny. That is something I learnt from him – to be aware of small things, not only of big things,' the actress said.

Shazahn Padamsee Interview: very tough to impress my dad

Posted: 30 Jan 2011 12:28 PM PST

Shazahn Padamsee Interview: very tough to impress my dad: Shazahn Padamsee managed to win praise from director Madhur Bhandarkar and her "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji" co-star Ajay Devgan, but says it is difficult to impress her "perfectionist" father, theatre veteran Alyque Padamsee."My dad is my biggest critic. It is very tough to impress him… he is such a perfectionist!" Shazahn told us.

However, the 22-year-old feels her father provides constructive criticism and she has learnt to takes his comments in her stride.

"When I have to go out, and I ask him - 'Dad, how am I looking?', he just nods. He is never like 'wow' or 'stunning' the way others compliment me. My dad is very strict and critical and I understand that he does it because he wants the best for me. I really appreciate that about my dad.

"It's nice to have a dad who is in this profession, who knows what acting is, who knows what good films are… he has a great taste in cinema and it's really good to have someone who can give intelligent opinions about the kind of films I should do and what look suits me. I go to him for a lot of advice and I believe it's always the correct thing to do," she said.

Theatre is in Shazahn's blood and she enjoys the medium, but Bollywood is what enamours her most.

"My main focus is Bollywood. I do enjoy theatre, but honestly there's no time. I love doing plays, but it takes way too long to develop them. Doing theatre is a way of life… you go and rehearse from 10 a.m.-10 p.m., have chai (tea), work at your own pace… it is an art form and very personal. So unless there's time, it's tough. But right now, films is what excites me. Nevertheless, when I have some time, I would love to do theatre," she said.

Shazahn was seen on the big screen in "Rocket Singh - Salesman Of The Year" and in just released "Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji", she is seen as a 21-year-old bank intern June Pinto, who charms a much-older senior colleague, played by Ajay.

She does not want to be choosy at such an early stage in her career.

"I am very new and I can't really sit on a high pedestal and start demanding the kind of stuff I want. God willing, I will be there one day because I know I am very ambitious. But right now, the reality is that I am a newcomer. I am getting good offers as of now, and I do want roles that I can relate to and would be happy to do roles to which I can bring something unique."
